Herbal Dosing & Disclaimer

Herbal Dosing; One Size Does Not Fit All

Pureherbs Online has one purpose and that is to provide you with the highest quality herbs, spices, and whole food ingredients in bulk volume to enhance and support health for you, your pet, or your equine companion.  Every herb, spice, or whole food ingredient is rigorously tested to pass or strict criteria for identification, heavy metal load, and bacterial contaminants.  We expect a lot and so should you!  Every herb and ingredient is considered 'human grade' and can be utilized in any person or animal companion.

We do not provide dosing or recommended doses with any of our herbs, spices, or whole food ingredients.  Every herb, spice, or whole food ingredient purchased here is provided in 'bulk' form, generally a set amount of 100-500 grams with no specific directions on usage. The reason is that no two people or animals are alike in their body type, constitution, or need.  The doses for the herbs or other ingredients that we offer can range widely, all depending on the need, the current diet, lifestyle, and considering what other herbs or foods are being utilized concurrently.

Most of our customers are well educated and have a good idea as to what they or their animal companions require and also how herbs work and their respective energies.  Even too much of a good thing, such as some herbs, can create problems in the wrong situation.  Education is the key!

To properly use herbs in their bulk and pure form, it is vital to measure them out accurately in weight, generally milligrams or grams, depending on the herb and usage.  Using bulk herbs allows you to fine tune regimens for optimal health as you see fit.  We recommend purchasing a 'gram scale' online and weighing the herbs out until you get a good feel for them, their usage and what your body requires or responds to.  We also recommend using proper measuring scoops, such as those found here on our website.  We offer a pack of measuring scoops which includes a small scoop (0.5 cc= 1/10 tsp), a medium sized scoop (2.5 cc = 1/2 tsp), and large scoop (29.9 cc = 2 tbsp).  These are nice to have and generally speaking, the 0.5 cc scoop provides approximately 500 mg of herb, the 2.5 cc scoop provides approximately 1.5 grams of herb, and the 29.9 cc scoop provides approximately 15 grams of herb.  This is generally speaking and will depend on the herb density which dictates weight.  Some herbs are lighter than others.

We offer two resources, which can be found in our books.  One is "Herbs & Whole Foods; Repairing the Horse " and the second is "Why Aren't You Healed; Healing Through Observation".  Both of these can be found on this website.  These books are invaluable for truly learning how herbs are used and they each provide dosing guidelines within their pages.
